Debb Axtell Schultz for U.S. Senate – 2026
Debb with family at a special celebration.
Debb Axtell Schultz is a proud 73-year-old grandmother, lifelong Nebraskan, and small-business owner from Grand Island.
Born and raised right here in the heartland, Debb has spent her life raising a family, serving her community, and standing up for the values that make Nebraska strong. She’s not a career politician — she’s a real person who’s fed up with Washington insiders who’ve lost touch with the people they’re supposed to serve.
After decades of watching the same old faces in Washington do the bidding of special interests, Debb decided it was time to step up and give Nebraska a genuine voice again. She briefly ran for Grand Island mayor before realizing the biggest fight for our state is in the U.S. Senate.
Debb is a person of deep faith, a strong supporter of our veterans, and someone who still shows up at church suppers, county fairs, and local events because that’s what real representation looks like.

A platform built on Nebraska values and common sense.
Debb is a rock-solid supporter of our God-given right to keep and bear arms. She will never vote for any gun-control measure that infringes on the rights of law-abiding Nebraskans. "The Second Amendment is not negotiable. Criminals don’t follow laws — good people need the ability to protect themselves, their families, and their property. In Congress, I will fight every single day against Washington elites who want to disarm you while they live behind armed security."
Mental health is a crisis in rural Nebraska and across America. Too many families are suffering in silence, veterans are struggling, and our communities lack the resources they need. Debb will make mental health a priority by fighting for increased funding for treatment centers, telehealth services in rural areas, and programs that actually work. "We owe it to our kids, our veterans, and our neighbors to treat mental health with the same seriousness we treat physical health."
The United States Postal Service is broken. Rural routes suffer, service is unreliable, costs rise, and taxpayers foot the bill. Debb will push for real structural reform — modernizing operations, cutting waste, protecting Saturday delivery for rural America, and making sure the USPS works for the people, not union bureaucrats in Washington. "Our farmers, small businesses, and seniors depend on the mail. It’s time to fix it once and for all."
Enough is enough with the twice-a-year clock changes that mess with our sleep, our health, our kids’ school schedules, and our farmers’ routines. Debb supports legislation to permanently end Daylight Saving Time and keep Nebraska on standard time year-round. "This isn’t a left-or-right issue — it’s common sense. Science shows the switch hurts our health and productivity. Nebraska deserves to stop pretending it’s still 1970s energy policy."
Pete Ricketts has been in Washington long enough. He’s a career politician who’s more interested in national headlines and special-interest money than in solving the everyday problems facing Nebraska families, farmers, and small businesses.
While Ricketts has been collecting a Senate paycheck, our rural hospitals are struggling, mental health services are inadequate, the Postal Service is a mess, and Washington keeps trying to take away our guns. Enough.
Debb Schultz is the outsider Nebraska needs — a real grandmother, business owner, and lifelong Nebraskan who isn’t owned by anyone. She will go to Washington to fight for you, not for lobbyists.
This race is about sending a clear message: Nebraska wants new leadership, new energy, and someone who actually listens.
